Habitat is looking for Family Applicants within Virden & Surrounding Area
***DO YOU WANT TO OWN YOUR OWN HOME?***
In 2011, Habitat for Humanity Virden plans to build a duplex and will build two houses for two families from the Virden area. Applicants can be from Lenore, Oak Lake, Elkhorn and any other area within 45 km from Virden.
Requirements for Habitat homeownership include:
1) You have been regularly employed for the past 18 months to 2 years in this area
2) You are a family with children
3) Your current housing is either: too expensive, too small, unsafe, or substandard
4) You are willing to volunteer 500 ‘sweat equity’ hours with Habitat for Humanity (350 hours for a single parent family)
5) You are willing to take on a zero percent interest mortgage
6) Your annual household income (including Child Tax Benefit) is below the low-income cut-off. Look at the chart below to see if your income falls below these numbers:
